I was looking for something to share today that would be encouraging, as at any time we could find ourselves in a stressful, and/or needful situation. I shared this comment earlier on my website “When you pray, make sure you are specific with your request, and believe with all your heart that God will provide (hold fast to that belief when doubt wants to step in and rob you of your faith), He will make away, not just for me, but for you also.”
This week I’m on a mission, and I have had some anxiety about the situation. My mind would not settle. I found myself pacing and going over and over in my mind what I could do. I found myself pacing and praying. What I wrote came to mind along with a prayer for peace. I took a moment to do some deep breathing exercises in a bid to relax. It wasn’t long when this scripture came to mind. Here it is: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (Found in the book of John, chapter 14, verse 27 (this is how it looks when you run across a bible reference John 14:27).
I was encouraged. I was touched. I was moved with gratitude and peace of mind and heart. I took the time to read the full chapter and found more. What stood out for me was this,
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do… If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” Here is a promise I can hold on to.
I hope these words will be encouraging to you in your situation.
